Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
This policy explains how Heartfield Press handles information when you visit heartfieldpress.com or contact us about our books. For privacy questions, email [email protected].
Information you provide
When you email us, we receive your email address, any name you provide, your message, and any attachments. We use that information to respond to your inquiry and manage related correspondence. Please share only what is needed for your question; do not send payment details or sensitive personal information.
If you contact us through Facebook, we receive the profile and message information that Facebook makes available to us. Facebook also handles information under its own privacy policy.
Website visits, hosting, and security
Our website uses WordPress and is hosted by Hostinger. Hosting and security services may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps, and security events to deliver the site, diagnose problems, and prevent misuse.
Wordfence is installed for website security. Depending on its settings and the type of visit, it may process IP addresses, traffic and login information, and other security-related data. Information may be handled by the service providers that operate these systems. See Hostinger’s privacy policy and Wordfence’s privacy policy.
Cloudflare performance analytics
The site loads Cloudflare’s performance analytics beacon to help measure page visits and loading performance. Cloudflare describes this service as collecting performance metrics without tracking individual visitors across websites. This is separate from technical information processed to deliver and secure the website. Learn more in Cloudflare’s analytics documentation and Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Cookies
WordPress and security services may use cookies for functions such as administrator sign-in, authentication, and security checks. The homepage does not offer visitor account registration, a newsletter signup, or an on-site checkout. You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings; blocking necessary cookies may affect some site functions.
Comments on WordPress pages
If a comment form is available and you submit a comment, WordPress collects the information entered in the form and may record your IP address and browser information for spam prevention. Your comment and display name may become public if approved. Comment information may be retained with the published discussion. If profile images are provided through Gravatar, an email-derived hash may be sent to that service; see Automattic’s privacy policy.
Links to other websites
Our homepage links to Facebook using an ordinary link rather than an embedded feed. Following a link takes you to another website, where that provider’s privacy practices apply. If book retailer links are added, any purchases will be handled by the retailer rather than this website. Heartfield Press does not receive your payment details through the homepage.
How information is used and shared
Information is used to answer messages, maintain the website, understand its performance, and protect against spam and security threats. Hosting, email, analytics, and security providers may process information as needed to perform these services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to address fraud, misuse, or security incidents.
Retention and security
Correspondence is retained as needed to respond to and manage inquiries. Technical logs and backups follow the applicable service settings and provider retention practices. Some records may need to be kept for legal or security reasons. No online system or email service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can browse without contacting us and can manage cookies through your browser. To ask about information you have provided, or request access, correction, or deletion, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Available rights and any exceptions depend on applicable law. Depending on your location, you may also have the right to raise a concern with your local data protection authority.
Children’s information
Although our books may be enjoyed by families, this website is intended for general information and adult inquiries. Please have a parent or guardian contact us on a child’s behalf. If you believe a child has provided personal information that should be removed, contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when website features or information-handling practices change. The updated policy will be posted here with a revised date.
